[INNEWS Comprehensive Report] On August 22, Chea Vuthy, Deputy Secretary-General of the Cambodian Investment Committee and the Cambodian Special Economic Zone Committee, met with Xu Shiwen, President of the Fuzhou Entrepreneurs Federation of China, and his delegation at the Cambodian Development Committee.
The visit aims to explore investment opportunities in Cambodia in the fields of mining energy, heating and air conditioning manufacturing, tourism and hotels.
Deputy Secretary-General Chea Vuthy extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced Cambodia’s investment potential and activities in these fields.
He mentioned that according to Article 24 of the Investment Law of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in addition to enjoying the convenience and incentives provided by the government, investors also have the opportunity to obtain considerable returns from investment. The New Kingdom government is committed to maintaining peace and promoting development, while supporting more delegations to explore investment opportunities in Cambodia.
In this regard, Chea Vuthy believes that the Fujian delegation will conduct in-depth research and evaluation on the areas of interest in order to achieve a win-win situation. He hopes that investors and businessmen can make full use of areas with potential in Cambodia through direct investment or establishing partnerships with local businesses, further promoting the development of the local market and exporting to regional and international markets.
At the same time, Lim Heng, vice president of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, said that since the implementation of the bilateral free trade agreement, political and trade cooperation between Cambodia and China has grown steadily, and the export flow of agricultural products to China is expected to increase in the future. At present, Cambodia has a large number of investment projects and funds, and many Chinese companies are looking for investment opportunities in various fields in Cambodia.
Potential industries for Chinese investors to invest in Cambodia mainly include infrastructure construction, textiles, agricultural product processing and agro-industry, mineral resources, and electrical and electronic components.
