Direct flights between Cambodia and India planned to launch at the end of the month​


[INNEWS Comprehensive Report] On October 4, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet met with Indian Ambassador to Cambodia Devyani Khobragade.

It was revealed that Cambodia and India plan to launch direct flights at the end of the month to promote people-to-people relations and trade. During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters regarding relations and cooperation between Cambodia and India. Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his gratitude to the Indian government and people for their support for Cambodia’s development in various fields, and looked forward to the two countries further expanding the scope of existing cooperation, especially in areas such as investment and cybersecurity.

At present, cooperation between Cambodia and India is advancing steadily and continues to grow. The Ambassador of India, on behalf of the Indian government and people, expressed congratulations on the inclusion of Cambodia’s “Guo Ge Temple” monument in the World Cultural Heritage List. She also mentioned the historical relations between the two countries, especially in terms of cultural and people-to-people exchanges, which are currently developing in various fields. In the field of trade, Cambodia and India are negotiating on bilateral trade preferences and plan to negotiate a free trade agreement in the future.

It is understood that in terms of people-to-people exchanges, the two countries plan to launch direct flights between Cambodia and India at the end of October 2023, which will drive the development of tourism and trade, as well as other related industries.

In the field of defense, the relations between the two countries and their militaries have also made significant progress, with the two militaries signing a memorandum of understanding and arranging joint training. Prime Minister Mane and the Indian Ambassador also agreed to further expand the scope of cooperation to include naval cooperation.

The Indian Ambassador invited Prime Minister Hun Manet to pay another official visit to India to strengthen and expand relations between the two countries and peoples.
