Duong Dara led a delegation of Chinese investors to visit Battambang Province

[INNEWS Comprehensive Report] On August 10, Battambang Provincial Governor Sok Lou met with a Chinese investor delegation led by Prime Minister Hun Sen’s Special Assistant Duong Dara. The two parties jointly explored the investment potential of Battambang province.

Duong Dara said the main purpose of the Chinese investor delegation was to gain a deeper understanding of the potential of Battambang Province, which is an important investment destination and a strategic location to connect neighboring provinces.

Sok Lou said Battambang province has great potential in the agricultural sector and the province urgently needs investment partners. He called on domestic and foreign investors to invest in the agricultural product processing industry, including fruit processing, agricultural product processing and sales, and exporting abroad.

At present, many agricultural products have not been fully processed and cannot meet market demand, resulting in a drop in prices. Battambang Province is regarded by the Cambodian government as the fourth economic province of Cambodia and is also an important tourist destination.

Sok Lou pointed out that currently, the province has good infrastructure, including the Asean highway and railway linking to Phnom Penh. In the future, the Cambodian government will also plan to build a road directly connecting Siem Reap and Battambang. If the highway from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and the road from Siem Reap to Battambang are built, the index of domestic and foreign tourists turning to Battambang will be higher.
