Hun Manet arrives in Hanoi for official visit to Vietnam


[INNEWS Comprehensive Report] At 10 a.m. on December 11, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and his delegation arrived safely in Hanoi, Vietnam, and were warmly welcomed by senior Vietnamese officials and officials from the Cambodian Embassy in Vietnam.

It is reported that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet left for Vietnam this morning for a two-day official visit from 11th to 12th. Senior officials accompanying Prime Minister Hun Manet include Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Development Council of Cambodia,Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, SOK Chenda Sophea, as well as a number of senior officials, dignitaries and business leaders from the General Chamber of Commerce of Cambodia.

Subsequently, Prime Minister Hun Manet and Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính met for a bilateral meeting, aiming to further strengthen and expand cooperation between the two countries in a wide range of fields such as education, trade, investment, connectivity, tourism, culture, security, defense and border affairs, and discussions on regional, sub-regional and issues of common interest. The two prime ministers witnessed the signing of three cooperation ceremonies, including a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in science, technology and innovation between the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation of Vietnam and the Ministry of Science and Technology; a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the National Academy of Diplomacy and International Relations and the Vietnam Diplomatic Academy; Memorandum of Understanding between the General Chamber of Commerce of Cambodia and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and co-chairing the Cambodia-Vietnam Trade and Investment Forum.

In addition, Hun Manet will meet respectively with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyễn Phú Trọng, Vietnamese President Vo Van Thang, and Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman  Vương Đình Huệ. At the same time, he will also actively promote friendly exchanges between Vietnam and Cambodia, and invited Nguyễn Thị Thanh , chairman of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association, and leaders of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth League to meet. He will deliver a keynote speech at the University of Foreign Trade in Hanoi, Vietnam, in-depth discussion of the Cambodian government’s economic development policies and the economic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia. Hun Manet official visit to Vietnam marks the further deepening of the long-term relationship between Cambodia and Vietnam in the spirit of “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term stability”, achieving mutual benefit and win-win results between the two countries.
