Hun Manet expressed his gratitude to China for its congratulations on the Cambodian People’s Party’s overwhelming victory in the election. This victory reflects the Cambodian people’s support for the policies of Hun Sen and the Cambodian People’s Party, and is also an affirmation of Cambodia’s successors. He is grateful for China’s long-term assistance, especially during the new crown epidemic, China selflessly provided vaccines and material assistance to Cambodia.
Hun Manet said that under the leadership of Hun Sen, Chairman of the King’s Supreme Advisory Committee and Chairman of the Cambodian People’s Party, the Cambodian People’s Party has always adhered to the “one-China principle”. At the same time, he will also be committed to strengthening cooperation between the youth of the two countries, including youth training, Cambodia-China Friendship Youth House project and other cooperation, and plans to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU).
Liu Jianchao expressed his gratitude to Hun Manet for his warm welcome and emphasized the great attention Chinese leaders attach to Cambodia, especially President Xi Jinping’s congratulations on the CPP’s landslide victory in the national election on July 23, 2023. He promised to jointly promote the further development of the relationship between the two countries, and he has full confidence in the wise leadership of Hun Manet.
Liu Jianchao emphasized that China firmly supports the implementation of Cambodia’s various initiatives and the fruitful results of cooperation. China continues to support the 7th Cambodian government led by Hun Manet, and highly appreciates that Hun Manet formulated a comprehensive “Pentagonal Strategy” less than a month after taking office, which is the first phase with a clear strategy and vision.
Liu Jianchao pointed out that China is deeply grateful to Cambodia for continuing its friendly diplomacy with China.
