[INNEWS Comprehensive Report] On October 9, when Hun Sen, Chairman of the Supreme Advisory Committee of the King of Cambodia and former Prime Minister, presided over the finalization ceremony of “Son Under the Full Moon” at the Shuijinghua International Convention and Exhibition Center, he raised a thought-provoking question: Which one Are leaders willing to give up power for the sake of peace and prosperity for their country? He himself is willing to resign as Prime Minister of the Seventh Royal Government in order to promote the peaceful life of the Cambodian people and the further development of the country.

Hun Sen said that in the world, some leaders were forced to step down due to losing the support of the people, and some chose to give up power due to various problems, but for him, he chose to resign as prime minister mainly out of concern for the Cambodian country. considerations of peace.

He said that more than a month after the establishment of the new royal government, has anyone seen the Cambodian people being frightened? Has anyone seen people going to banks to cash out, or preparing food to flee? Therefore, he is willing to resign as prime minister for the sake of peace and sustainable development in Cambodia.

In addition, Hun Sen also pointed out that the past opposition groups’ remarks that “he dare not step down” were too little to understand him. They should know more about him, and he can live for at least another 30 years.

Hun Sen: Israel requested assistance in evacuation of overseas Chinese, Cambodia immediately sent a special plane

That night, Hun Sen mentioned that Cambodia would send a special plane to evacuate Cambodian students if the Israeli government requested it. He suggested to the Cambodian government and Prime Minister Hun Manet that if the Israeli government does not announce the evacuation of foreigners from the country, the Cambodian government will not evacuate Cambodian citizens for the time being and share the joys and sorrows with the Israeli citizens. However, if the Israeli government requests it, Cambodia will not hesitate to spend a lot of money to rent a “special plane” to evacuate international students stranded in Israel.

It is understood that a new round of conflict between Israel and Palestine resulted in the death of a Cambodian student, and more than 400 students are still stranded in Israel. Many countries have begun to evacuate their citizens from Israel, but Cambodia insists on not abandoning Israel and will share weal and woe with its citizens. In any case, Prime Minister Hun Manet and the Cambodian government have been paying attention to the safety of more than 400 Cambodian students.

Hun Sen said that currently, the Cambodian Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Education and other relevant departments are paying close attention to the safety of the Cambodian people stranded in Israel. When South Korea was threatened by North Korean missiles from 2013 to 2014, while tens of thousands of Cambodian workers and students were stranded in South Korea, and when the COVID-19 epidemic broke out in Wuhan, China, in 2020, Cambodia insisted on not evacuating its citizens.

In addition, Cambodia calls on all parties to remain patient and find solutions through peaceful dialogue. He also called on Hamas to release its hostages, including more than 10 Thais.
