It is understood that, as the chairman of the winning political party in this general election, Hun Sen applied to the king to appoint Hong Mane as the prime minister of the new government. After Hun Sen resigns as prime minister, he will be appointed chairman of the King’s Supreme Council by the king. In the new administration, he will also serve as the chairman of the Senate, while the current chairman of the Senate, Say Chhum, will retire.
It is reported that the seventh National Congress will hold its first plenary meeting on August 21. The next day (22nd), the National Congress will vote for the new government cabinet, and the government will be sworn in on the same day.
