The 61-year-old Sretha Thavisin was previously a real estate developer. He announced his entry into politics shortly before the election of the House of Commons in Thailand in May and became one of the candidates for the Pheu Thai Party’s prime minister. On the 22nd of this month, he won the support of more than half of the members in the joint meeting of the upper and lower houses of Congress and was elected as the new prime minister.
