Kampee Ditthakorn said at the press conference on the same day that the Secretariat of the House of Representatives has submitted the result of the joint meeting of the upper and lower houses of the Congress on the 22nd to the royal family to elect Saita as the prime minister, and the king has approved the appointment of Saita as the prime minister.
The 61-year-old Sretha Thavisin was previously a real estate developer. He announced his entry into politics shortly before the election of the House of Commons in Thailand in May and became one of the candidates for the Pheu Thai Party’s prime minister. On the 22nd of this month, he won the support of more than half of the members in the joint meeting of the upper and lower houses of Congress and was elected as the new prime minister.
