The president of the Royal Academy of Cambodia visited Henan to promote aviation cooperation, and tourism and food became popular across the board

[INNEWS Comprehensive Report] On August 27, Sok Touch, President of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, paid a four-day visit to Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, China, and met with relevant departments of Henan Province.

The two sides discussed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Royal Academy of Cambodia and the Zhengzhou Institute of Macroeconomics (ZIM) and Cambodia Angkor Air Co., Ltd. The move aims to strengthen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, tourism and aviation, and promote the growth of tourists from the two countries, especially the direct flight from Zhengzhou to Cambodia.

Sok Touch said the Royal Academy of Cambodia will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Zhengzhou Institute of Macroeconomics and Cambodia Angkor Air.

The Memorandum of Understanding has three main objectives: to jointly host the Zhengzhou-Cambodia-ASEAN Aviation Forum; to strengthen think tank cooperation and conduct research on key issues of common goals; and to study the feasibility of economic, trade, cultural and tourism cooperation between Zhengzhou and Cambodia.

Sok Touch said: “In Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, I see a lot of opportunities. Because Cambodia can bring the tourist market, salt market, durian and seafood here to the province. Now, Japan insists on starting the discharge of Fukushima nuclear contaminated water into the sea. After work, the Chinese side successively announced measures to completely suspend the import of Japanese aquatic products and strictly prohibit the use of Japanese aquatic products to process or sell food to ensure the food safety of Chinese consumers. This is an opportunity for us.”

Sok Touch emphasized that as we all know, the Chinese market is huge, and Cambodia and China have a very close relationship and extensive cooperation. He believes other cooperation will follow as efforts are made to encourage more Chinese tourists to Cambodia. Hu Wandi, advisor to the Cambodia Association of Travel Agents, praised the efforts of the Royal Academy of Cambodia and Cambodia Angkor Air. This has promoted new cooperation between Cambodia and China, and the Ministry of Tourism has been working hard to attract Chinese tourists and develop Chinese tourism reception capacity by preparing new tourism products.

It is worth mentioning that, in order to attract more Chinese tourists, the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia announced the launch of an online tourism service quality certification system for Chinese tourists – the “China ready” white paper plan. The plan aims to improve the quality of tourism services, meet the needs of Chinese tourists, and further increase efforts to attract Chinese tourists.
