Within 3 days of Water Festival, Siem Reap received over 300,000 tourist


[INNEWS Comprehensive Report] On November 28, the Siem Reap Provincial Tourism Bureau released the latest data report: During the 2023 Cambodia Water Festival (November 26 to 28), the province received a whopping 304,261 domestic and foreign tourists in just three days.

The Siem Reap Provincial Tourism Bureau report further stated that of the 304,261 tourists, the number of foreign tourists was 14,261, a decrease of 46.37% compared to the same period last year, but compared to the same period in 2019, this number is actually on the rise, That was a 10% increase to 26,592 people. The number of domestic tourists was approximately 290,000, an increase of approximately 16% compared to the same period in 2019. Among them, the number of tourists in the Angkor area is about 147,000, the Kulen Mountain and Waterfall is about 8,000, the Siem Reap River is about 110,000, and the number of tourists in the tourist community has also reached about 25,000.

Ngov Sengkak, Director of the Siem Reap Provincial Department of Tourism, said that behind this data is Siem Reap Province’s rich cultural and historical treasures, natural resorts,  Kulen Mountain and Waterfall, Tonle Sap Lake and other unique resources that attract global attention. Not only that, there are community resorts in cities, districts, including cultural villages, which continue to attract tourists from all over the world.

Ngov Sengkak pointed out that the construction of new resorts and the creation of innovative tourism products are important measures for Siem Reap to comply with the development trend of quality, service-oriented and attractive tourism. This development roadmap is supported by the provincial government and the National Fairy Agency.
