Liberty Group Chairman Tommy Visits Asia-Europe University, Deepening Mutual Cooperation Intentions

(Phnom Penh, Cambodia)On the afternoon of March 19th, Liberty Group Chairman Tommy led a delegation to visit Cambodia’s Asia-Europe University, gaining a deep insight into the students’ academic and daily life. This visit not only enhanced the understanding between the two parties but also marked a new chapter in the cooperation between the two institutions.

It has been learned that the two sides have reached an intention for cooperation, with plans possibly to sign an MOU. Liberty Group has pledged to offer job opportunities to Asia-Europe University students aspiring to work in the information technology (IT) sector, especially those who have demonstrated exceptional abilities during their studies. Additionally, the group will provide necessary support and resources for students wishing to further their studies in the IT field, whether it be studying abroad in China or securing scholarships.

The Honorable Ly Kunthai, Vice Chairman of the Young Executives of the Cambodian Chinese Executive Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asia-Europe University, welcomed this initiative and expressed his gratitude for the job opportunities and scholarship mechanisms provided by Liberty Group. He also accompanied Chairman Tommy and his delegation on a tour of the various departments of the university, further showcasing the learning conditions and achievements of the students at Asia-Europe University.

It is understood that since its establishment by a local non-governmental organization on September 9, 2002, Asia-Europe University has developed into a well-known private university in Cambodia. Offering education levels from associate degrees to doctorates across multiple disciplines, the university currently has 9,665 students, including 4,451 female students. Notably, its Chinese Studies program, established in cooperation with the Confucius Institute in Cambodia since 2010 and supported by the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, currently has 492 students enrolled. Asia-Europe University also has 63 international partners, including 21 from China, providing valuable opportunities for exchange, internships, and employment among students, faculty, staff, and researchers.
